Title: Someday
Bible Book: John 14 : 1-6
Author: Jackie Kay
Subject: Heaven
Objective:
Introduction
When anticipating a change of address you want to know something about where you are going. There is no sweeter theme.
“On Jordan’s Stormy Banks I Stand”
“When We All Get To Heaven”
“Shall We Gather At The River”
“I Am Bound For The Promised Land.”
Into the ear of the weary saint the Holy Spirit whispers “Someday.” Heaven is a new city, a new country, a new creation, and a new community.
I. The Desire For Heaven
Hebrews 11:8-10, 16, “Abraham looked for a city…
Philippians 1:23, “Desire to depart…”
Philippians 3:20, “Our citizenship is in Heaven.”
Luke 10:20, “Our name…”
Matthew 6:20, “Our treasure...”
John 14:1-6, “Our home…”
II. The Difficulty Of Heaven
Our difficulty with Heaven is related to a couple issues
A. Limited Perspective
We know all we need to know, but not all we want to know. We have a limited insight because there is much to be done here. “Eye hath not seen…”
B. Limited Language.
No artist can paint its beauty. No poet can capture its essence. No author can reveal its glory. No architect can provide us a schematic. The Queen of Sheba said of the glory of Solomon’s kingdom, “Not the half has been told.”
III. The Declaration Of Heaven
1 Corinthians 2:9
This is no human fantasy rooted in man’s instinct for self-preservation. We are not on uncertain ground. Dr. R.G. Lee used to say that Heaven “was the most beautiful place the mind of God could conceive and the hand of God could create.” Heaven is neither a dream nor a state of mind. Heaven is a real place where we shall place resurrection feet on resurrection soil.

VI. The Deletions of Heaven
We could say that Heaven is “The Land of “No.” There are a lot of “no mores” in heaven.
A. The “S” List
Sin, separation, sorrow, sickness, suffering, stress, or struggles.

Disappointment, discouragement, defeat, doubt, disease, depression, darkness, dread, divorce, or death.

VII. The Door To Heaven
Heaven only has one Door. Look at John 14:1-6. The Bible clearly states that there is no other name given whereby we can be saved.
VIII. The Decision For Heaven.
Make it today. Place your faith in the Christ who is the “Way” to Heaven.
