Introduction

I. From Where Did I Come?

There are 3 primary views regarding this question.

A. Evolution

The first view is that of evolution. Evolution sates that, “Billions of years ago a simple, single-celled organism appeared on the earth and began to reproduce itself; it eventually evolved and changed itself into all species that have ever existed. It is an anti-supernatural explanation of origins.” However, we must be aware of six facts regarding this view of life’s origins.

1. Evolution Is Unscientific

Despite what you may have been told, evolution has never been proven or tested in a laboratory. Evolution is a theory and nothing more. A theory is conjecture, not fact!

2. Evolution Is Unsupported

It is critical to know that are forms of life in between humans and other species that are still missing. In other words, no one has ever found the “missing link.” It is interesting that evolution is often taught as if a process from single-cell to human form can be traced in a straight line. That is not true and no honest scientist will say that it is true.

3. Evolution Is Un-Supernatural

Darwin began with a belief system rather than with science! I know this may come as a shock to you, but Darwin had the idea in mind that every living thing came from one cell and evolved into complex forms. Then, he set out to prove that theory. Science is supposed to be the unfolding information discovered in research. Christians are often criticized for have a belief system about life and closing our eyes to facts. Actually, that is what Darwin did when he formed his theory of evolution.

4. Evolution Is Unscriptural

Certainly there are no verses in the Bible that support evolution. Those who say that evolution and the Bible can be married seamlessly are not using Scripture nor are they using common sense.

5. Evolution Is Unreasonable

Every idea of evolution starts with the notion that there was matter from which everything evolved. What evolutionist never explain is where did the matter come from that they say developed into all living things? You cannot have a creation with a Creator. You look at a watch and know there was a watchmaker. You look at a home and know there was a homebuilder. It is unreasonable to look at complex living organisms and not accept that there is a Creator!

6. Evolution Is Untrue

There is not information available to proof evolution. There is no evidence to validate it! It is simply untrue!

B. Creation

(Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16; Psalm 139:13-14)

The Bible clearly teaches that God, the one true God, created all things. We are plainly told that He created mankind and formed a relationship with us. The idea of Creationism is Biblical, Spiritual and Logical.

C. Theistic Evolution

The phrase Theistic Evolution refers to idea that creation and evolution are one in the same. That is, those who hold to Theistic Evolution believe that God used evolution to create matter and organisms. This idea is not found in Scripture, though certainly God possesses all authority in heaven and earth and can create or destroy as He wishes. The Bible states for example that God created a great fish to swallow Jonah. But, the idea that all matter is evolving according to some divine plan is not found  in Scripture. History is evolving according to God’s plan, but matter is never mentioned that way in Scripture.
